So, I took 2 cuttings off of both of my potted and put them into willow water on the 11th. As of today (18th) I don't see any roots forming on any of the 4 cuttings... The cuttings still look good and green but nothing happening (as far as I can tell) with rooting.
Here are pics I took a few minutes ago. I guess I should just keep waiting until they either show some roots or die...?

Hey G, I got the info here http://www.bluestem.ca/willow-article1.htm
I was hoping the willow water would make the rooting process faster or easier... :hmmmm:

sometimes those roots can be buggers and take up to 2 weeks to show....keep waiting...they sound like they are looking good and not droopy...so leave them be ;)

Thanks for the affirmation LL :chick:
Hey cranky, no dome but I mist them periodically throughout the day and it's warm and humid out (80% humidity) plus they sit in the shade there on the railing.

hey whats the temp around those clones? if the temperature is too low they wont ever show roots but if you add a little bit of heat like 75-80 degrees theyll root

has anyone here ever tried it during the flowering cycle. making it more resistant to stress sounds useful, I just feel wierd giving my plants asprin

I don't think flowering is a good time for root growth. Seems like it [clone] would have to revert to veg first which I'm not sure it can do without roots in the first place... :electric:

cloning during flowering isnt good but it can be done, it just takes longer for the clone to root is all. i took every clone i ever took during "the stretch" in flowering and all 4 rooted in about 2 weeks, maybe a little longer i didnt keep track well. but the farther in flower it is, the more chance it will die :(
and uhh asprin?
I've had some strains take a week to root. Some take 3-4 weeks. No two plants every cloned the same for me. and some strains were a royal PITA to root. All in veg. Never tried during flower though.
I've done the dirt with rootone, and just a cup o water in the bathroom window sill. both worked but took at least a week. I'd just keep waiting until they root or die. like you said.

Are you oxygenating the water, or are you changing it often enough? With the heat all the oxygen in the water will soon get used up and could kill your plants if your not carefull ;)
Also what lighting are you using? You don't need much light for clones and too much can have adverse effects on the length of time it takes to root.
Good luck getting em to root, I think they looked healthy enough so I hope they survive for ya

Hmmm... never read anything about changing the water so I guess I should do that often? :dunce:
I knew I should have just made one of those bubblers! :damn:

Bubblers are good if you can controll the temperature of the water, mine only works in the spring or the autumn (or fall for the American members ;) ) because I can't controll the temps out of these seosons :D
If you have an old fish tank air pump then just drop an air stone in the water to add oxygen, this will save you keep changing the water all the time ;)
Hope this helps ya bro :)

here is what i use to help rooting i mix 3 differant products thrive alive red bottle 1 teaspoonful bontone rooting powder 2 teaspoons full then k-l-n liquid rooting concentrate 1 teaspoonful i use an old rootech gel container the realy small pack then shack it till it all mixes together it should get like a paste but just a little thinner all these products i use are one's that i tried and worked for a little while so instead of throwing them away i tried mixing them and i just rooted most of my clones in less than a week when before it took almost 2 weeks and i use potting soil not airopoinics not saying it will work as good for you but if you have a few differant products try mixing them might work for you aswell or might not but try it on a just a few to see that way if it don't you only lose a few and not all i stumbled on this by getting tired of haveing to buy new rooting agents every other time i root as it seemed like the clones built up some kind of resistance to 1 single product or maybe i just bought old rooting agents not sure why they didnt work every time but since i started i have noticed an increase in growth not after rooting before as the clones keep growing while they are growing root when before they more or less stood still while rooting

i've had a few do this quit a few some times then i started to recut the ends after 2 weeks some it worked on some it did not but next time you check them see if the end of the planted stem thats sapose to root is bigger around then when you took it from the plant
also last time i was at the local grow shop i told the guy about my clones takeing for ever to root but i told him tomatos he recomended cal-mag as he said that it sounded like a calcium def. and gave me 20 sample packs so it could be the whole time my plants had a calcium def. or bad rooting agents

Hey thanks for that input Ice. :share:
Now don't take this the wrong way bro but... sheesh, try some punctuation! A comma or two and maybe throw a period in there occasionally. :teef:
