As for my favorite rolling paper... King Size Smoking Papers... Greens, Blues, Blacks, etc. Favorite rolling method is "The Splif" aka "Cone".

Rolling a Joint
Basic joint rolling tips
Most people reading this will be well practiced the art of rolling a decent, smokeable joint. However, for those with more thumbs than fingers and a zero rating on the Kudos scale, here are few basic tips
The mix is perhaps the most important part of the joint. Make sure the consistency is even and break-up or remove any lumps or 'woody' bits.
The shape of the finished joint is decided by how you distribute the mix over the papers. Many of the numbers here are cone-shape. Cones tend to smoke more smoothly than straight joints, but are slightly harder to ro ll.
Putting the roach in before rolling is recommended and saves time and hassle. You're also more likely to get a perfect fit.
Now for the 'tricky' bit. Pick everything up and start in the middle, rolling outwards. Let your thumbs do most of the work and give support and pressure with your forefingers. You should start to feel the mix firming inside the paper.
When you have an even consistency tuck down the facing paper edge with tips of your thumbs, wrap the excess paper around the joint, wet the and seal that baby!
The best joints are firm but so tight you have to bust a lung drawing smoke. Loose joints taste rough, burn too fast and have a nasty habit of setting light to clothing and furniture.

Perfect for skinning up in awkward situations, the Trembler is speedy, simple, uses only two papers and comes highly recommended.
A classic quickie.
pic 1 - Stick two papers together at 45° angel as shown.
pic 2 - Add the mix and the roach. The layout of the papers makes the Trembler perfect for a cone shaped creation.
pic 3 - When the rolling the joint, stick down the first paper...
pic 4 - before wetting the second and wrapping it around to seal the smoking end of the joint. Voila!

An undisputed classic well known to most smokers, the special is easy to roll and tolerates clumsy fingers. Everyone has a favorite way of rolling the special - This is just one of them.
pic 1 - Stick two papers together with the gum strips forming a straight line. They should over-lap by about a fifth of their length.
pic 2 - Stick a third paper to the back of the first two, centering it in the middle of the number.
pic 3 - Add the mix and the roach, the paper shape suits a slender cone or straight joint.
pic 4 - Roll as normal and enjoy!

Fly into fantasy on the ax Minster of your dreams! Popular in North Africa, where a cigarette segment is substituted for the roach, the Carpet is ideal for those that like 'em short and fat.
pic 1 - Stick two papers together to form a square with a gummed strip along one side.
pic 2 - Take a third paper and stick it, face down, to the end of the first two.
pic 3 - There is plenty of space for mix so you can trim away any excess paper.
pic 4 - Roll the joint as normal then twist the end to secure the third paper. Grip that pile and prepare for take-off!

Joint-smoking often demands a little discretion. If you're in need for a clandestine toke, roll yourself a Secret Agent and remember to stay downwind.
pic 1 - Stick two papers together to make a square with a gummed strip along one side.
pic 2 - Take a cigarette and remove the filter by squeezing at its base and rotating between finger and thumb. Eventually enough of the filter will show for you to pull it out.
pic 3 - Replace the filter with a roach of the same size and shape.
pic 4 - Cut the cigarette in two, as cleanly as possible about 1cm from the roach.
pic 5 - Make up a mix to replace the tobacco that was in cut away and add this to a paper. Form it into shape of the cigarette.
pic 6 - Roll the joint with the 'filter' protruding from the end.
pic 7 - You may need to secure the bogus filter with a gummed strip torn from another paper. Remember the walls have ears!

A joint that seems to last forever, the joker is an extra large cone guaranteed to spread a grin from ear-to-ear without straining the finger muscles.
pic 1 - Stick two papers together with the gummed strips forming a straight line.
pic 2 - Take a third paper and fold it in two, leaving the gummed strip on the outside.
pic 3 - Wet the glue and and sandwich the folded paper firmly between the other two as shown.
pic 4 - Before the glue dries pull the paper out. It should have left enough glue to stick the others together.
pic 5 - Stick a fourth paper to the lower, righthand edge of the joint as shown.
pic 6 - Add a fifth paper to the end of the joint as shown.
pic 7 - Create a more triangular shape by tearing the fourth paper diagonally in half. Refolding the papers along the centre of this triangle will also ease rolling
pic 8 - To support the extra length use the whole of the forefingers when rolling. Prepear for top-notch enterainment!

Three way heaven! Okay, okay, it's fiddly to make but you can use it again and again. Best of all, it'll hold three of your favorites.
pic 1 - Make a roach the length and diameter of a thick pencil and seal it with papers or tape.
pic 2 - Cut two large, circular holes either side of the roach, about 3cm from the end.
pic 3 - Make a second roach, half the length of the first and slightly narrower.
pic 4 - Cut the biggest posible hole you can make through the centre of the second roach.
pic 5 - Join the two roaches by inserting the second tube through the hole you made in the first. Rotate the smaller tube untill the central smoke hole is in line with the larger tube. If you can see through all the tubes then you've cracke d it.
pic 6 - Carefully seal the roahes with tape or gummed strips. Keep bandaging untill your sure it's airtight.
pic 7 - To use the roach simply add your choice of joints to the protruding ends. Any joints will work altough it helps if they burn at the same rate. Bingo!

Guaranteed to impress with it's pyrotechnics, the Backflip makes use of the minimum of paper and is easy-going on the lungs. Prepare for instant kudos or instant embarrassment, This is a tricky one.
pic 1 - Stick two papers together with the gummed strip forming a straight line.
pic 2 - Take a third paper and fold it in half, leaving the gummed strip on the outside.
pic 3 - Wet the gum and sandwich the folded paper firmly between the other two skins, as shown
pic 4 - Before the gum dries carefully pull out the third paper. It should leave enough gum behind to stick the other two papers together.
pic 5 - Gently 'roast a cigarette over a moving flame until the papers goes brown. This should 'burn-off' some of the tar and nicotine.
pic 6 - Add the mix to the REVERSE of the papers, keeping the gummed strip facing DOWN and AWAY from you.
pic 7 - Roll the joint in reverse with the glue on the OUTSIDE. Seal the joint, leaving the excess paper on the outside. N.B. This takes some practice.
pic 8 - Now for the finale. As soon as you have sealed the joint, light the excess paper at the roach. Hold the joint upright and let the flame burn away the unwanted paper as it travels up the joint. If you are lucky the joint should self- ignite. Bud-a-bing! Kudos is yours!

Once mastered, the joint rolling technique opens a realm of possibilities for weird and wonderful creations. The Diamond is a good place to start and when made with care smokes surprisingly well.
pic 1 -Roll a straight, fat joint with a sturdy roach and carefully cut it in two using a pair of scissors or a knife.
pic 2 - Roll two identical joints, without roaches and slightly thinner than the first. Put slightly less mix in their centers so that you can bend them later on. Consistency is important here, the joints must burn at the same rate
pic 3 - Carefully trim away any excess paper from all four joints, leaving the mix flush with the paper.
pic 4 - Cut the gummed strips from ten spare papers (the wide strips from king skins are best) and put to one side.
pic 5 - Now for the tricky bit... Join the two identical joints to the segment of the first joint containing the roach. Use some of the gummed strips to bandage the join as shown. It is best to do this on a flat surface. Keep bandaging until you are confident everything is airtight and secure.
pic 6 - Very gently, bend the two joints at their centers until they meet to form a diamond shape.
pic 7 - Finally, bandage the joint to the remaining at the end of the diamond, using the gummed strips as before. Pat yourself on the back, you're officially a diamond geezer!

An Amsterdam specialty, the tulip is often found (usually half-smoked) in the hands of an unconscious tourist. A good tulip is deceptively smooth to smoke and easier to roll than it looks.
pic 1 - Make a roach about the length and diameter of a pencil and seal it with a couple of large papers.
pic 2- Take two more large papers and stick them together to form a square with gummed strip running along one side.
pic 3 - Fold corner A over to corner B to form a triangle, leaving the gummed strip uncovered.
pic 4 - Wet the strip and fold it over to seal the triangle. You should now have something resembling a flatenned paper cone.
pic 5 - Open up the cone and tightly pack it with layers of carefully blended mix.
pic 6 - Gently crimp together the excess paper at the end of the cone.
pic 7 - Place the roach in the centre of the cone, using the crimped paper to hold it in position.
pic 8 - Finally, secure the roach by tying thread around the crimped paper, (a rubber band works well too) keeping everything as tight as possible. Blooming tulip-tastic!

The bigger, balder, bastard brother of the Tulip (try saying that after you've smoked one). It takes some effort to roll, but a good nose cone is a king size chunk of truly cosmic proportions. Lightweights need not apply.
pic 1 - Stick two king-size papers together to form a square with a gummed strip running along one side.
pic 2 - Fold corner A over to corner B to form a triangle, leaving the gummed strip uncovered.
pic 3 - Wet the strip and fold it over to seal the triangle. You should now have something resembling a flattened paper cone.
pic 4 - Open up the cone and tightly pack it with layers of carefully blended mix.
pic 5 - Take two more kingsize papers and stick them together at a 45° angle as shown.
pic 6 - Add loads of mix to the papers, forming it in to the shape of a cone and use a large, sturdy roach.
pic 7 - Roll the papers and mix into a big, fat joint with the same end diameter as the cone you made earlier.
pic 8 - Carefully cut away any excess paper from the fat joint and the cone leaving the mix flush with the paper. Join the two together with gummed strips torn from spare papers.

A smoke-cooling chamber and multiple joint holder, the Windmill is designed to get you spinning in the breeze. Although it's tricky to make, the holder can be used time and time again.
pic 1 - Roll a wide cone from a 10cm x 10cm piece of cardboard. Secure it with tape then trim the end to form a perfect cone.
pic 2 - Seal the cone with large papers, leaving 3cm of excess paper at the end, as shown.
pic 3 - Carefully make four cross cuts at regular intervals around the end of the cone.
pic 4 - Make a long, narrow roach, about the length of a pencil, and seal it with papers or tape.
pic 5 - Cut the roach in half, then remove a section from the centre of each segment.
pic 6 - Insert the two segments so that the cut-outs are completely inside the cone and facing it's narrow end. Seal any gaps with tape or gummed strips.
pic 7 - Seal the end of the windmill with the excess paper, using thread or tape. To use the windmill, roll the numbers of your choice around the protruding roaches and enjoy a four-way smoke of quixotic proportions.

this is my fav i have to say. gonna try it soon
A pure cannabis cigar is perhaps the ultimate joint and a must for the rich, famous and well connected. Using exotic, hard-to-get ingredients this can be a hard one to get together.
pic 1 - First, find yourself a thai stick, (cured buds tied around a bamboo sliver) Remove any thread and carefully coat it with liquid cannabis resin oil.
pic 2 - Wrap the coated stick with small, uncured, 'top' leaves, taking care to remove any stems.
pic 3 - Secure the leaves with thread and coat with more liquid resin. Leave the cigar to dry in a dark, dry and warm place for a day or so.
pic 4 - Remove the thread and repeat the entire process. Use progressively larger cannabis leaves until the cigar is suitably fat.
pic 5 - Use large 'sun' leaves to seal the cigar, add a final coat of cannabis resin and secure with more thread.
pic 6 - Leave the finished cigars to dry. In two to three weeks it should be ready to smoke.
pic 7 - When drying is complete, remove the thread and carefully pull the bamboo sliver from inside the cigar to create a smoking tube. Store your cigars in a dry air-tight container - the longer you leave them, the better (and stronger) the y will get.

Hey Stanley,
great thread dude, the Cannabis cigar is similar to what I call a Mr. Natch'al
which is just a bud of you favorite smoke rolled up using (potent) sunleaves that haven't dried yet.
the Natural stickiness of a good bud and surrounding sunleaves is usually enough to keep 'em together, but I like the idea of using fine thread to keep it wrapped tighter while it dries.
I'd like to see one of those made from a kong-sized cola!!
Can we say Par-Tay!?

i smoked a blunt about a week ago and i just dont know it just wasnt like it used to be. i used to smoke a lot of blunts until i ran into better weed - and the blunts would barely get me high cause the weed in them sucked. i didnt like it very much cause every time i hit it i could taste the tobacco and when i smoke weed i like to taste straight up weed - but this is the perfect way around that :D :share:

Line the inside of a toilet paper tube with rolling papers stuck together, leave a 2 inch excess of paper sticking out of one end.
take the end and twist the paper all together so that the end looks now like a carnival tent. make sure the end is tightly twisted so that no bud can be pushed through.
fill that bitch up with some fine chronic, until you have about another inch or so left in the tube. make sure its packed tightly, but not super tight ( or you cant smoke the damn thing) and do the same thing to the open end and twist it up. cut the smoking end so you have a nice small hole where you can suck smoke through, and the other end so you can efficiently light it up.

right, it's time this baton was passed. This years lot is in jars, I've made the hash and the butter, now its time to get to some serious smoking.
The other day I calculated that I had rolled around 27,000 joints in my lifetime so far so hopefully I've got the basic tecnique down by now.
I shall endeavour to make all of the spliffs described, I'm getting old now and was thinking of taking up origami to aid manual dexterity anyway so this is like a halfway house.

Good luck sombro. My favorite of the list is the tulip. I've never made a huge one, but never had too, lol. By the third hit, if formed right, you are hitting a 1" diameter plug of weed. I made one for some friends once, and they fell in love with it. Now every time I see them, Im rollling a tulip.

sweet, it's the tulip i'm must looking forward to learning to make.
Just made the knee trembler and the saturday night special. The KT is the one we normally make at casa sombro. Because the papers are at an angle a bit more care is needed during the rolling stage.
for the SNS I folded a paper and licked the gum and used that to stick the other 2 papers together, that way it tastes better and looks better, the end came out a bit fatter than I like but it was still a nice smoke. The 3 paper version is, I reckon the easiest joint to make, outside of wussing out and using kingsize;) ;) ;)
I always use the thinnest papers I can find and the lightest tar and nicotine ciggies.
onwards and upwards.

the secret agent one is a bit of a pain, the easiest way to do it is described earlier in the thread but you'll need luck to get it to look like a real ciggie. the foolproof way is to empty the cig out, mix it with weed and poke it back in again, it should pass all but the most thorough inspection.

just finished smoking the joker that I made about half an hour ago, buzzing quite nicely.
New laws regarding the sales of tobacco in Spain have meant that you can only buy cigs in a tobacconist, open about 5 hours a day or in a bar bigger than 100sqM. However in bars you need to use the machine and often there's very little choice. Earlier this week I was rolling with marlboro lights :( :( :(
So you have to stock up when given the chance as I had today.
I made the joker with the orange papers I'd bought out of curiosity, no orange smell or taste unfortunately. Just indicates the weight of the paper I suppose. The papers were pretty thick and didn't help the taste, especially as this tecnique uses 4 papers. Also they are a bit smaller so the end product was too but its still before lunch here !
right, time to get creative!

the threeway or crossroads is a pretty fun way to smoke, good for party kudos or if you really have to get a big buzz on quickly.
It was pretty easy to make the tube, the problem is that its pretty hard to get three js to burn at the same rate especially as one has to be fatter than the other two, you can see the effect in the photos.
Can't see me smoking it again though, i'm too old for trying to impress people at parties and probably too old to smoke three joints at the same time too.
onwards and upwards party people!!

the backflip is the first one i've made that I wasn't really happy with the outcome.
Its a technique that takes practice as you need to lick the sticky and start the roll without releasing your hold on the nice tubeshape you've made the contents into. Also care needs to be taken as the sticky can bend in on itself and then you're knackered.
My effort was a bit loose but smoked fine, I was really pleased with the flashy effect when lighting it up though as you can see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_wHMrQ3iwk
i'm gonna practice this one a bit more coz not only does it look flash but it uses less paper than any other method.

well...... proper time management is essential to the karmic side of good spliffage, spend too much time each week making someone else rich and an imbalance in your Chi will, if unchecked lead to escaping strands of baccy or green, papers that don't stick, roach problems and uneven burning.
Do 10 hours overtime a week and the financial benefit could easily be outweighed by the cost of new shirts bought to replace ones ruined by burning droppage.
Try to avoid work cutting into rolling time, after all a window is required for all the following activities represented in smiley form---:mmmm: :watch: :mosh: :sunny: :rastab: :band: :eat: :crazydan: :grow:

the famous Amsterdam tulip is a cinch to make, to smoke it's a different matter. Rip the front off of a magazine, roll a bit into a tube and tape it up, arrange the papers into a square with the sticky at the top, fold it in half diagonally, fix the sticky to make a pouch. fill with jazz fag and scrunch the top up. poke the tube into the scrunched paper and fix with a 'laccy band.
I made a few of these, for smaller ones use tape to fix the paper to the tube, you have to make the tube again next time but you have to be pretty hardcore to smoke a lot of these. if you take a pull as if you were smoking a j you'll be looking for your lungs for the next half hour (mine were under a hedge) it's hard work to smoke on your own but to pass around would be pretty cool.
to make the one in the picture I used 4 fags and about 9g of bud, when you've finished loading the good stuff put an extra ciggie on top because you can't smoke the very last bit.
gonna have a bit of a rest now, back tomorrow.

i'll bet you're like me and look with great suspicion at any joint that gets passed to you. Rofl. :D
Thanks for taking control of this thread, Sombro. Like Shadows said, I figured most of them were impossible. Hope you had fun doing it.
Now.. Make up some brand new joints. Call one the Sombro.

thanks you types, it's been fun. I reckon the vap will be getting more play soon to give my lungs some rest!
One to go, the windmill and then we're done. I've been looking around the net for the joint rolling handbook, there are two out there so perhaps this story has a sequel, you never know.
For the moment though I'm going to stop rolling these huge joints in case people start to think I'm compensating for something
Still smoking the nosecone btw.

Ok so here's the last one, the windmill.
It was time consuming but easy to make the holder, quite pleasant in a lazy kind of way. Nimble fingers are required to poke in the roach holders but apart from that it's a breeze.
thanks and respect to Stonin'Stanley for posting up all the templates.
happy rolling y'all.
pretty cool roll'n there sombro :D
myself I cant roll... tried for years and years to free hand but i suck at it

if you take a pull as if you were smoking a j you'll be looking for your lungs for the next half hour (mine were under a hedge)
gonna have a bit of a rest now, back tomorrow.
Thanks for the laugh. It hit me just right this morning. :)

ok you types.
there seems to be a requirement for a basic wrapping up lesson, i'll get the necessary props together and start a new thread as i'm still bored and its ages til planting.
there's no reason to stop anyone making a nice (alright smokeable) party spliff, it doesn't take much manual dexterity, just practice.
back soon.

European weed fama, those see through papers are sweet, bit of a strange taste but definitely one to entertain the guests hehe.
i personally prefer to roll backwards with smoking blues, the rips come out when i roll me up a movie spliff.
