well seems are grow'n pal drumin is interested in lst :D

so thought i would break out my yellow bucket for the task.....

first thing i do is remove the handle ;) (learned the hard way on that)

i like to go from the party cup to 5 gallon for this. reason is i can plant the plant real close to the edge like this

http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4780&stc=1&d=1152381548

next we want a counter tie for the plant. I use the green garden twisty ties but couldnt find them  but did find a peice of old speaker wire and attached to the ring that goes around the outside of the bucket (see the holes )

http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4781&stc=1&d=1152381548

now your ready to bend the plant over

couple different ways to go about this depends on the stem and age of plant.. if the stem is soft and flexable just bend her over if not like in this case just rub the stem between thumb and finger to break some of the fibers up so it will bend....if you over do it at this point and the plant just flops over on ya no harm done

allso gonna need a way to hold the plant done had some garden stakes things just for that but couldnt find those either so i made some...coat hangers work good for this but i didnt have a metal one so used some heavy fence'n wire

just cut and shape em like this

http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4782&stc=1&d=1152381548

now it's time to pin her down.... i go 90* and insert 3-4 pins to hold it like so

http://www.homegrownbud.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4783&stc=1&d=1152381548

now it's time to wait, with in 24-48 hours the plant will turn it's self upward and we can pin some more ;)

what we are after is secondary growth so lets keep an eye that and see what happens

back in a couple days with update piccys and more tie's

nice,

Did somethin similar with string and tied down a bushy plant in a spiral almost- twas for a micro grow in a 1x1x1 floro powered cab!!!!
for anyone else trying:
from experience, only prob is try and be careful watering as the leaves are so close to the soil, can entice mold and buggers... but im sure CB knows that ;)

he also knows the beast that will grow into!:D

CB
07-11-2006, 10:24 PM
say TAN them micro grows are cool :D seen some amazing things done in 1 sq foot ;)

good point on the mold bro one must spend time with there plant when ya tie em down this tight to the soil.....

i usally unleash them once a week and let em reach up for the light and breath a bit and air out..... will be doing that in the next few days like;)

string will be used as well in time ;)

didnt move much today just adjusted a bit

secondarys are come'n on now and just wait till ya see what i do with them

11 bucks for ocean forest soil here but can go as high 22 or so in some places  but it is a easy to use line of nutes and soil IMHO

slater the untie'n does 2 thing's.... lets the plant raise up off the soil for water'n and feed'n as well as let'n the plant streach it's legs a bit (or a growth spurt) ;)

well got the string wire and twist ties out and adusted a few things as well as used a few pins for weights..... will get close up's if anyone wants

Hey CB,

this may be off topic :offtopic:

just a question about flushing: how long do you wait before you harvest to flush? one week or so? and how many times would you flush if you were using chemical nutes?

thanks

-DooB

StoninStanley
07-25-2006, 02:10 AM
ive seen some growers say 1 week, some 2, some even 3. the real difference is in the smoke. a plant that was flushed at 1 week there may still be some chems in there you dont want, 2 weeks of flushing makes the smoke taste alot better IMHO. i think 3 weeks flushing before harvest might be taking it overboard and the plant may not have the nutes it needs to finish flower completely. but some say that the smoke is much cleaner, and one grower (elsewhere) says it produces the whitest ash he's ever seen after its burnt.

but i like to flush 2 weeks before harvest, and then at the end of 2 weeks maybe wait just a couple more days, let the soil dry out a little and let more a few more trichs turn amber.

StoninStanley yep i think 3 weeks is a bit much as well but i have never tried it....

European weed fama works great outdoors and alot of peeps do this in there yards or veggie gardens for stealth ;) .....

drumin

drumin never assume bro :D plant is from seed and normally i would start lst at 10 days or so from seed. wasnted gonna lst at all but seems a few peeps wanted info so i did one.... as for time i dont keep records like so may be off a few days or so... would have started flower'n at 4 weeks as per my norm but wanted some time with this plant for this thread....last one i did was 40 inches across with over 40 real nice cola's..... tiss what cranky calls my 42 legged spider:D ....
