Where can I find some good info on the differences between Sativa and Indica? I'm looking for differences in growth patterns and highs.

The diffs are VAST in virtually every area my friend, my answer would blather 10,000 words plus LMAO! Wanna narrow it down for me, I can't think of a thing I couldn't answer for ya bro; I have Looooong experience with both, indoor and outdor, hydro and organics... and synthetics, yikes I'm old heh heh. :)

WELL THE DIFFERENCE
is basically the area of the world each comes from
i believe the sativas come from the equatorial parts of the earth where seasons are longer and less contrasting, (i.e. longer growth paterns and lankier plants)
Indicas come from areas where you are above the 36th parralell (someone correct me if im wrong.... not sure the exact # hee hee)
they exhibit a usually stouter bushier plant with bigger more crystally buds.
the THC and other cannabinoid levels are vastly different between EVERY strain of Cannabis, including both indica and sativa strains, but the Indica tends to be higher in the cannabinoids that result in hunger and "couchlock" highs, the sativas are usually more in the cerebral highs
but thats barley scraping the surface of the issue, every strain, especially since hybridization of cannabis, is different and I've witnessed sativas that grow stout and fat and indicas that have lany buds and stretch like nobodys buissiness ;)
hope this helps
peace

I guess I'm more interested in the difference in the highs since it can all be grown indoors just about anywhere. I gather that Indica highs are generally more "get stoned and watch TV" while Sativa highs are more "let's go catch a movie or talk politics"...?
I have trouble getting to sleep so I like a good heavy stone before bed but I like getting high and being social some times. I've had weed that worked the opposite of what I wanted which is why I'm endeavoring to grow my own. For me it's important to control my high... does that make sense?

You make perfect sense to me bro, and here's the thing, all in my opinion...
I can count the indica hightypes on one hand, but sativas I would need all my fingers and toes and I would still have more.
There is an intensity that you can only find in sativas and a feeling of your head expanding out into the universe kinda super wonderous and clear, many bordering on speed-like in their effects while others are severly narcotic in nature. Others are dark-side paranoid types, or silly grin all day long types where everything is beautiful with the world.
Indicas can be very very potent, but often too thick and sleepy for my tastes; however an exception would be olde world hashplant, the kind with barely any pistils and just caked in trichs. I call this type "electric indys" and are my favorite indica hightype expression.
The skilled blending of the two species, keeping it sativa dominant and not letting flowering time drop below 10 weeks, yields some of the finest smoke ever, if you ask me. Once your strain drops below 10 weeks, it's impossible to keep that certain special sativa intesity I speak of, at least I have never seen it, and I seen a lot heh heh. ;)

Hi Rolantteroy, I would love it if you would put some strains to those different highs you were explaining. Indica is best for my symptoms, but every once in a while I would like to have a good 'ole smoke myself silly just for recreation' session. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Good growing sunshine for everyone!

Yeah sure mang...
I have many of these types that I used African Rooi Bart, Malawi Gold, Tanzanian, Durban Poison, Undumbi, Thai, Acopulco Gold, Kiwi Green New Zealand, Texada Timewarp, Highland Columbians, Oaxican Crypt Keeper, Congo, Vietnam, and others in creating for these specific purposes.
I too am a med user and prefer a heavy Indica-type to help me to eat and sleep at times, but I also love the mood enhancing qualities and the energy without the munchies etc. many of my hybrids and strains lend to the user. My very favorite at present for med properties is my Blue Rhino 1947 (Blue Rhino x 1947) the 1947 is also an f1 hybrid of a Peak 19 x Cherry AK47...
I have a strain right now that is my new favorite for adventure weeds and mood enhancement and it's called Cindy Congo. All head and VERY VERY potent!! She is a 14 weeker with very large yields and fairly easy to pull off indoors with a bit of bending. For the best shit to use when training/bending your plants, go to like a Wal-Mart or something and find the FLORAL TAPE! This stuff rocks for this and I use nothing else but that and some green stretchy garden tape as well.
Many peeps don't like sativas and sativa dominants because as a rule of thumb they will suck if you fugg them up; so ya gota be fairly on your skills when growing them, or willing to learn via trial and error, and don't give up quick! LoL! :)
The Cindy Congo is a Cinderella99 x Congo, I also have another really good one like this that is a Cinderella99 x Kona (Hawiiain Kona Gold) and I call this one Cindy Aloha. Those would be the most user friendly ones I have now, but like I said I have many many Sativa Dominant strains and hybrids but many require really good to expert skillz to pull off well indoors, but outdoors, especially with a greenhouse to help with the longer flowering times, heh heh no sweat on many more of them as far as user friendly.

Here's on of my latest creations I am anxious to try as soon as I am up and running again, and I call it Blou Bart, which translated means "Blue Beard" and is a simple hybrid f1 of my Blue Rhino x Rooi Bart (African Sativa) ...she is wicked healthy and has all good foundational genetic expressions in place, should be about an 11-12 weeker and I am thinking EXCELLENT for outdoors especially, but still all good indoors with mebbe a little tieing down and bending in smaller spaces.
