I'm just learning this stuff so bear with me. I'm growing for personal use so I prolly won't have more than 4-6 plants growing. Currently I carry the two plants I have growing outside every morning and let them sit in the sun all day. At night they sit about 6 inches under a 2x4 hooded flouro. So my questions are:

Q. what's the best flouro bulbs for this?
Q. Should I invest in a 400w hid and if so what's the best to use hps or mh?

yo drumin.i use cool white tubes..you can mix the warm with cool also;)

then you have envirolites.there much better then fluros but not as good as the hid's but dont give off as much heat.

for flowering id say go for a 400-600w hps with air cooled hood(if ya can afford it,abit pricey...all depends on your grow space size.)

more light they get the better the end result;)

The amount of weed you get from a 400 will more than cover the price of the light itself; especially when compared to what you may harvest from under fluorescents.... In my opinion, at least.

yes bro,i only use flouros for vegging mate.....once you've used a hid ya wont use anything else IMO;)

i use 3 x 4ft fluros at 38w each in a space of 2ftx2ftx4ft..400w air cooled hps for flowering in a 3.5ftx4ftx6ft;)

im using a 400w MH right now for Veg and I am happy with the results thus far.

I plan to use a 400w HPS for flowering, and I'll let you know how that works out :cool:
