Just wanted to report. Recently i wanted to move my BB mother from hydro to soil for less maintenance. What a mistake. I killed her. I assume that I must have suffocated the roots as they were not used to being covered.
May be lack of experience on my part, but I will never do that again.
My only choice now so that I can keep my schedule going, is that I cut a flowering BB a little early, will reveg her in hydro then clone that one for soil.
I miss that mother, she was always good to me. Had her almost 2 years now.
Rest in peace Mother BB your legacy lives on.

man i would check other possibilities cause ive seen plants move from hydro to soil and vise-versa a million times atleast. The fact that she was 2 years old might play a factor there, but I wouldnt think that would matter, unless there was some serious root damage during the transplant. Are ya sure she is dead and not in shock?Shock can get pretty dramatic at times.

if youy ever move a mother again move the roots to a good sized bucket 1/2 full of the water she came from then ad the dirt some at a time after you get the dirt in to the point the water start to come out the top poke holes in the bottam to let the standing water out the dirt level will go down but thats ok just add more dirt as the leval goes down then water with a phed water a little higher each time you water till you get the ph more for a dirt grow than for hydro but wait till the new pot is starting to dry out this has worked for me in the past i never got it to 100% perfection but i only did it 6 times got about a 70% survival rate
hope this helps

Thanks ice, makes sense to me
sure will miss the ole girl, she was good to me
for the previous comment, i don't think there was any problem with roots or anything close to it. very well cared for plant and nothing had really changed at all
i believe i should have introduced the soil a lot slower than i did and actually did try to make a very very light soil mixture
as with all growing, this is just another one of those lessons - joins the ranks of spider mites, leaf burn, powdery mildew, etc guess the learning never stops
