Hey, this is my first grow journal, and my fourth grow. I use 400 watt HPS with switchable ballast in a space approx. 5 feet long, 3 feet wide, and 5 ft tall. I use miracle grow soil and miracle grow nutrients. They have worked for now, but this summer I want to try some other nutes and see whats best. If anyone has questions about anything feel free to ask, as I am probably leaving out many details.
This is the first strain I have. These first pics are of a clone I had from my second grow that I vegged for like two and a half months. As you can see it is close to being done. It's 25 inches tall.

This is another plant I started a while ago. It's a different strain that the above pictures. I started two seeds about 4 months ago and flower one right away and vegged the other for two months. This is the one I vegged for two months. The first one turned out pretty good, so I can't wait 'till this one is done. Looks like its gonna produce a lot and the nugs are dense as hell, much more dense than any of my previous grows. The plant is 29 inches tall. It doesn't fill the room up with much smell, but up close, it smells very fruitty and a little skunky.

More pics of the strain above. The last shots are clones of this plant and a few shots of this same strain from my last harvest.I got an oz off it last time after only vegging for a week or two and I had to pick it a bit early cause it molded from humidity...I got a dehumidifyer the next day.

This is a female I started flowering after a week of vegging. It is an unknown strain I mated with a White Russian male from my last harvest. This strain has no relation to the two strains above. This strain is doing well and growing reall strong. I planted the seed like a month ago. Its been flowering for maybe two weeks. The first pic is the plant a week ago, the rest are of it today. Right now it is 24 inches. I figure it was about 15 inches a week ago.

Here are the rest of the seeds I started of the White Russian crosses. They are like 3-4 weeks. I am tying the tops down on all of these to force the plant to stay small and grow outwards to efficiently use my small space. I did SCROG once, but not this method. I messed up the nutes with the SCROG and it died, so I didn't get to see how well the method worked, but I was reccomended to tie them down and decided to give it a try. Hope it turns out.

Here are photo's of clones i took from plants that had been put under 12/12 for two weeks before i cloned them. They look a little wierd, I'm curious as to how they will turn out. I vegged them for a week and they've been flowering for like 2.

Finally, here are some shots of everything I have going right now. I'll keep posting as I take more pics, probably every week or so. enjoy.

Yeah, it's been doing me pretty good so far. I'm thinking of trying some other nutes or combinations of 'cause I've had a few problems and it lacks some nutrients. Anyone have any recommendations for good nutes? I'm gonna go all organic.

A lot of soil folks love the fox farms stuff, those nugs look great for MG though, kinda unreal.

Very nice chronic smoker! Is everything whiterussian/something, including the first few plants in the first few posts?
they obviously love what you're doing for them, very green and lush
ever try w/out MG? or anyone's HGB without MG? Lol. Curious as to your opinion of the stuff since it's working so well for you.
How big of an area is that 1 400 covering for you? Looks pretty well lit in that room and you've got a bunch of plants, nice for a 400. I found myself really cramping the plants together under mine and I didn't have as many.
BTW, sorry if you answered this somewhere but how tall do you let those big ones get?

The first two strains are each different strains, and both are different from the Russian crosses. They are just some seeds I got from some better sacks. I have a few seeds of the first plant crossed with the Russian, but not the second strain.
Miracle Grow is the only nutes I've ever tried. I bought a big ass thing of it and it's running out, so thats why I want to shop around maybe for something better. I haven't tried only water yet...I might give it a try with some of the Russian seeds and compare it to those I used the Miracle Grow on.
As for my space, I am doing about 5ft X 3ft X 5ft. I'm using my flowering space too to veg to save space and electricity. I try to keep the ones I let grow tall under 3 ft. I let my roommate grow a plant under the light and he grew it to like 2 1/2-3ft before he flowered and it grew to about 4-4 1/2 feet and burned the top a bit, plus we had to move it in the corner so it wouldn't burn, greatly reducing the amount of light to it. Long story short...I keep em under 3 ft. for now. Hopefully gonna move this summer and get a place with a laundry room or something to grow in. Then I'll be able to grow some monsters.
I i have about 12 seeds, so maybe 5 or 6 females. I have two more female seeds and three clones that I started flowering right away...the 3 clones will take up no more than the space of one of the bigger plants. I alsp have the two plants that are close being done flowering, which will be done by the time the seeds get big and need the space. After these plants are done flowering, I figure I'll then have 4-6 females under my 400 watt depending on how much they branch out.

I think the key to not burning it has been that i water every third or fourth time using only water and I flush everything after about a month or month and a half. I have kind of burnt things in my first two grows, and it was always burning midway into flowering, so I started flushing more often and so far I haven't had any nutrient burns.

I cut down the plant in the first set of pics, so here are the final pictures of it alive. I cut the bottom braches off about a week ago, so there are some pics of it dried out too...and my bubbler:D

Thanks. No, I don't know the name of the strain its crossed with. It was crossed with a seed I got out of a sack I bought. Here's some pics of that plant I used to cross with the Russian. I vegged for about maybe 10 days and flowered for like 50...had to cut it a bit early cause it started to mold. Nonetheless, I got about ounce and a quarter, which had over 100 seeds(which weighed 5 or 6 grams).

Here is a shot of the top nug of the other plant I had flowering. A leaf died in the center and cause it was a bit too humid it got some budrot. It was only on a small portion, so I cut off the rot and salvaged the rest. I lost about two grams, so no big worries. The nug here is only half as big as it used to be; I didn't lose the whole half, but had to cut off the bottom half to get all the rot off.
