Quick question:

What's the minimum height required to force flower mj?

I've heard anywhere between 18-24'' but I just wanna be sure ;)

Oh another Q: If i force them to flower at, say about 18 inches, what would be the approximate yield of buds? (I know this would be a general answer, but anything is better than nothing :D)

have a great day :share:

ya want to wait for alternating nodes bro....normaly happens by about 12 inches as long as the plant aint stretched.if its clones then they can be but into flower as soon as they have rooted.;)

take care

I find from personal experience. The plant will double in ht. (without any tying) during the flowering stretch. but before flowering it should have alternating nodes (Like Cranky said) this shows the plant is mature. I never went by height.

depends on your grow setup

i used to start flowering at about 12-14 inches, but not strictly because i LST the plant which makes it busy but still only about 12 inches, increases yeild though for sure

Hey dooby, i think you're new at this. me too. :P I had two sativas forced to flower at 15-18 inches tall, and both ended up real tall, around 40 inches.
And i forced two indicas to flower at around 12 inches, They both ended up at two feet, maybe a few inches more. Most of this growth occured in the first three weeks of flowering, But they did continue to grow taller throughout flowering.

I had low stress trained AND topped just one of my sativas, and she has about 6 or so equally sized large colas. Nice yeild. The Other sativa i simply topped, and I got two really big main colas. Like holding a softball.

Reason i'm telling you? I didn't train the two indicas at all and recieved only an average yeild. Beautiful buds but only really at the internodes and tight main colas.

I wish I had trained one or more of the indicas now though, But from now on i'll definately be training.

when going into flower, the plant will stretch like a mf for the first2-5 weeks(depending on strain) until its 100% in flower mode...basicly its wondering where the lights gone due to being cut back to 12/12 and gos looking for it until it realizes its that time of year to start flowering...well it thinks its that time of year if ya get me...

thats the good thing about indoor growing....ya get to play god;)
