Super veg idea.

:idea: I got an idea, and I just want to here what you guys think because.. Well plenty of you hear know plenty more than I. :P

Got some plants outside, waiting to sprout, that i'm not completely sure what i'm gonna do with. One purpose I've thought of is to clone them and sex them.
These female clones will go into 5 gallon buckets (dirt) setup with those tomato wire cages.
Now, my goal at this point is to just veg like hell, and Keep LSTing those girlies around in circles around the tomato cage.
Eventually you could end up with a few feet in plant length, kept short because it's traveling in a wide circle round and round, and with a lot of at least semi-even budsites. I may only be able to grow 2 plants like this, or 3, but I feel if I vegged them for a long time the yeild would make up for the time.


Now, I just need you guys to picture this in your head and tell me what you think. Stupid idea? Anything obviously wrong? Not worth it? Let me know. :cool:

not sure what exactly a tomato cage looks like but yes you can train mj to grow many ways with enough training this may help to disguise your girls too!
what u said sounds do-able
and yeah even canopys are less important o.d.'s and your yield should be higher the longer you veg

been some time now since i saw that G. but i do remember that they left space between the circles of plant for air movement... like 1-2 inches

get the biggest cage they make as i think ya will need it out doors ;)

I was just gonna use the babies i have outdoors to find a female, this would be another closet experiment. Can't have big ol' smelly buds living out back, not where i live. Sorry to make it sound that way.

Been thinking about them 5 gallon buckets. And i've begun to think, what's the use? After I harvest my plants this time around, i'm gonna investigate their roots. I flowered them out in 1 gallon pots, and they got pretty big! One is almost 4 feet tall.

4 gallon kitter litter containers are only 9-10 inches wide 1 way, 12-13 the other. I could fit more of them in a closet than 12inch diameter circular bucket. Maybe i'll look out for 3-4 gallon circular buckets. Reason being, if I can pump out the same size plant in less bucket, I say go. If i can fit more plants because of this, I say go. Figure, you can grow 2 beasts.. Or you could grow 4. :P

I know maximum root size = maximum plant size, but that doesnt say anything about a big plant in a small bucket. Hell, look at yours, cb :P ( Not that you were arguing with me or anything, i'm just saying )

if your gonna go thtrought the effort of all that training id say a scrog would probably be a good choice and better yield
is your grow space limited in some way i didnt catch?

NOt limited at all. But after this grow and i've seen first hand the different training or topping makes in yeild, I just wanted to go for it.

Same thing as LSTing any other plant really except I'll just keep going round and round. Reason I don't want them to grow straight up real tall, even though I have the head room, is the light intensity. :shrug:

Just kind of a novelty idea who knows. I'm seriously plotting it though. :P

i like the sqaure pot idea and have seen it put to good use when space is some what small....like get'n a freebie ;) cab that can only hold 3 5 gallon buckets could fit 4 of the kitty little square bucket.... think there 3 gallon not 4 but could be wrong there.....

how long to veg ? hmmmmm only did 1 long veg so far in a 5 gallon bucket and lsted to it the max...went like 55 days veg and was over 40 inches across with over 43 donkey dicks on it :eek:

would be cool to see how a spiral in a 1 gallon bucket on a long veg did compared to the 1 gallon pots this time

oh ya my biggest pot this grow is allso 1 gallon and a few 1/2 gallon..... most are over 4 foot

CB, by donkey dicks, do you mean big buds or male cannabis flowers? I'm hoping you mean buds cause that'd be such a waste of time for a male. :P If it IS buds, 43 big "donkey dicks" sounds like a sweet harvest.

Those square buckets, like the 5 gallon ones, are 4 gallon. Found 'em online. I dont think i'll be able to find them in any stores around here, but for a 10inch wide square pot i'd pay some shipping and handling! That is an absolutely perfect size for my closet, you have no idea. Lol. And These tomato cages are really simple, too, so I wouldn't be entitled to veg forever depending on how closely together I tied them down. Anyhow it seems like it'll be fun and I have a ton of seeds, gotta be at least 1 female lying around. ^_^
