That's the Question....... Butter or Margerine?
I have made Cannabutter many times in the past and I have always used Stick "Butter". All the recipes I have seen call for it also. But what is to say you have to use butter and not Margerine? When I cook I always use Margerine and not butter unless we are making bread and for some reason margerine won't work, don't ask me why though.....
Is there anyone that has a reason on why you can't use Margerine?
Well tonight I made some Cannabutter with Margerine just to see for myself. I used a couple three ounces of trim, stems, and bud. I have a 5 gallon bucket I keep all this shit in when I harvest. All the leaf, stems, and the small buds left over when I clip the big buds that I don't feel like screwing with. I grabbed one limb that had prolly a 1/2 ounce of bud on it so there is some good stuff going in, in hopes of some good butter.
I have never made butter this quick either. I used about 1/2 pot of hot water, 3/4 cup of Margerine, and my trim. I boiled it for about 30 minutes on low heat with a lid on it then let it cool for about 10 minutes or less, just cool enough to handle without getting burned. I ran it thru a macaroni colinder of the wifes ( she wasn't home hahaha) andthen strained it thru a real fine bag I found that is extremely fine almost like silkscreen but not as tight of a weave. I tossed all that in the fridge and it is cooling as we speak.
So, what am I gonna run into using the Margerine instead of butter?
