Hi every1 l'm brand new to this site. My question is: Does anyone know if the new Envirolite's are as good as they say in there write-ups? l recently bought a 4 lamp reflector and bought two 6400k lamps for it, my seeds are 4 weeks into germination and they are doing very well (nothing out of the ordinary just thriving plants) but these things cost a bomb:cash: but they dont get very hot and heat is a problem in my grow space. l am very tempted to sell a kidney:crazy: to get two more 4 lamp reflectors and eight 2700k lamps but l need to know more before l jump. Does anyone know anything because beside the price they seem to good to be true.

Cheers cranky and every1 thanx for the info.
l phoned the envirolite manufactures, they said it costs £22.50 plus vat "which is 17.5%" for a 200 watt 2700k or 6400k but you would have to buy in bulk (hundreds of em) to actualy get them at that price. Anyway thanx again for all your replies. Have fun:smoke:

I love questions about envirolites
I use 2 x 125watt compact fluoros for veggin of 10 babies.
At the age of 3 weeks depending on the density...I add 1 x 150w hps before flowering with 400w hps

Those envirolites or larger compact fluoros do a great job :bong:

Here's a ghetto setup under 2 of the lites I was speaking of in my stealth dresser

Next time I need to replace my veg cab CFLs I'll use Nurturelites. Mainly because of the warranty but theres more than just that.

Cool Link Claw, danke! :D

Dayum Profound, heh heh, yeah, that's some compact growth right there. I am more and more impressed with stuff like your pic above, that just look so damn lush and stacked and happy under those CFs.

*DIG* on your Dressor bro, LoL, I had one looked like yours, didn't survive the last move sadly though.

DO those CFs put out any or much heat at all; I mean like a floro or warmer? I just might go for one of these if it's affordable instead of my ol' favorite a 250watt HID MH lamp. That is some impressive floro growth I gotta say, I mean if you hadn't said it was floro (CF) I would have assumed an MH lamp.

Hey REv,

I installed 2 x 200w Sunblaster CF's in our veg area a little over a month ago and am very pleased with the results... Temps are lower now than they were with the previous 4 shoplight floro units and the ladies are loving it. Less heat and a shitload more lumens hooyaa.

So cool those are mang :D

Well see I kinda need the heat in this one zone, the final vegg before flowering zone. But I have another zone for rooted clones, sprouts, and small mommy and daddy clones too. I would love one of those CF units for that zone.

I know nada, bubkiss, zero about these things, so forgive my ignorance here but, do they have other parts (like hoods/reflectors) that you need. Are the ballasts in the bulb assembly yes? Is it a normal around the house lightbulb socket size? I just have a little zone like 3'W x 2'L x 4'H and if they are affordable, now that you've used them, what would you get to light up that size space bro?

Thanx amigo, I been just itchin' to give one of these a whirl and I think I am getting very close! :) ..I'll just plan on a 250watt MH lamp for the one zone and try to get a CF for the other (affordability being a biggie.)

Thanks again my friend! :hello:

No additional parts needed Rev, but you will need a socket with at least same wattage rating. Most household fixtures are only rated for 100 watts or less.
At 'the depot' you can buy a socket rated for 200 watts or more, the porcelain sockets are nice, like mini moguls. If you don't want to wire the socket yourself, you can pick up a 'flood lamp' fixture there for like $12.

It will lok like the pic below.

Self Ballasted, requires Mogul Socket and regular 120 volt power. (http://www.progressive-growth.com/proddetail.php?prod=sb200)

grow on

edit: think a shade like THIS (http://www.progressive-growth.com/proddetail.php?prod=sb200)would do good if'n ya mod'd it some to take both lights like :D

I've got 2 x 200w SunBlasters in regular batwing reflectors doing a :greatjob: at covering a 3.5' wide x 6' long area... All ladies included in this area are very pleased to be praying to those SunBlasters hehe. 2thumbs

BTW, don't go by the prices listed at Progressive Growth Hydropincs, they're about $50 over what we paid

I have one, Elephunt man. About a week later I saw one in the dollar store for ...you guessed it... 1 dollar. Look around. ;)
