Hi when i was young, in 1969 my father was transfered to BC from nova scotia , we went to a small base in the northern tip of vancover island, the base was called RCAF Holburg, these pictures remind me of that area, a camp called raindeer was not to far up the road, i would on w/e walk for 4 -8 hrs with friends to camp on a new by beach called san joseph and cape scott. i would find glass balls on the shore that floated from japan... these pictures remind me very much brings back memories. the base was a radar basre hidden in the mountians for Norad Command, this base was isolation that means no radio no tv, no phone no personal communication at that time , i lived there for 3 years and loved it.... it looks like a nice spot to get left alone... My wife and I now live in sambro, a small fishing village out side of Halifax, we have a 1800 ft beach and a island of our own, but this dosn't compair to your spread, i am jealous of you and your wife... talk to you soon

Thanks everyone... Very pleased that you've enjoyed those pics... we're definately very very VERY happy here on this wonderful island paradise.... something new everyday.
Cranky man, that tree was one of three that survived a clear cut at the very top of a mountain... it was awe inspiring to say the least. Best part of that whole day was walking in those clouds... I'll never, as long as I live, forget that day.
Thanks for sharing your experiences as well Smokebeare, sounds to me like you're living 'the life' as well my friend....
Cheers and loads of good green mojo to all....

Got to the Island once, a long time ago, and the only thing I really saw was the inside of the peeler bar in Nanamio. Great pics!! Gonna get there for a real vacation one of these days.
